For some years now they have been working on the project of producing furniture defying time and respecting the environment. Everything starts in 1920s, when the designer's grandfather Nino and his dad Mario began their company adventure. They started working and learning the first secrets of wood carving with his dad and brother Maurizio. At that time already their furniture had natural finishes. They could have chosen a far simpler way of working, using other materials, such as those easier to work with. Instead, they decided to work with solid wood, the most unpredictable one.
Their services are focused on the creation and crafting of limited editions and one-offs. Paul Heijnen is a branded personality of themselves, an alter ego capable of customising their relation with each customer in constant personal progress. They understand designart as the grey zone between industrial design, crafts, architecture, sculpture, conceptual, installation and many other arts but applied to or at least suggesting objects of use.
New objects come to life as the intricate, modular designs grow in to and out from each other, becoming an evolving epiphanous tree of designs & ideas which can be traced to a common ancestor. Go to Paul Hejnen page
